Lectora uses the voices available through your operating system and browser. Voice quality and availability may vary; full narration is currently optimized for desktop.
Mobile note: some mobile browsers do not expose the voices needed for full narration. For now, Lectora works best on desktop.

Will Lectora publish my files?
No. Uploaded files are not added to the public library or published as site content. The narrator is separate from the editorial catalog.
Can it read scanned PDFs?
Image-based PDFs need OCR. For now, the best results come from PDFs with selectable text.
Why is desktop recommended?
Because browser narration depends on the Web Speech API. Voice quality and availability vary by browser and operating system.
